The day after coming home from Glendo, my sister Erin flew in to visit for a week, we tried to keep her busy as is our usual, and even though it doesn't seem like we did much, poor Caleb didn't get to watch cartoons all week other than Pinocchio one time at Erin's request, so we must have been busy! We went on a shopping spree for Rachel (little girl clothes are just too cute), had a morning of boating, went to a bull riding contest at a local restaurant, hiked horsetooth rock, and did some bike riding. All in all it was a really good time, and the kids love seeing their aunts and uncles. Luckily we will be making a trip up to Washington this weekend for my nephew John's baptism and will get to see them all again soon.
A view of Horsetooth Reservoir (where we primarily go boating) and Fort Collins in all it's glory from atop Horsetooth Rock, it was almost dark so not the best light

The following photos are from a couple days ago, after my sister left, you have all heard the old saying "April showers bring May flowers" what you haven't heard is the rest of that saying "Hail showers kill May flowers in June"
This photo was taken about 3 hours after the storm the deck was still covered the next day! The pots on the railing and the plants just behind the railing used to be brightly colored with lots of flowers. Our vegetable garden was so promising, already had tomato flowers and some actual peppers, it was pretty devestated as well, but mostly just a major setback. So very sad, but thankfully our lively hood does not depend on any of these things like so many farmers who had the same results with their crops
Anyone for a swim in the arctic?
