Camping at Horsetooth-boatless

The first weekend in June we had reservations to camp up at Horsetooth (a couple miles from our house) we had everything packed and loaded and just a quick check for water in the motor to avoid any long mussel inspections ended up clueing us in on a gear lube leak which meant the boat was out of commission. We decided since we were packed, loaded and had already paid for camping that we would go anyways without the boat. The weather was awesome and while we missed out on wakeboarding and other boat required activities, I think the kids were just as happy with beach play and finding friends to play with in the campground. We celebrated Caleb and my birthdays with Doug's dad and Diane early since we wouldn't see them for a while and all in all had a great time.

Caleb found a squirt gun on our walk over to the swim beach and went right into James Bond mode...watch out everyone Caleb is the only one with a gun!

Super launching, they did this for hours that night, Thank you Jim and Diane for a great birthday present!

Birthday Girl and Easter Eggs

Rachel's birthday fell on good friday this year, so instead of our usual big party we celebrated with a mini swimming party and a bigger joint Easter BBQ party. She was so upset on her actual birthday that she didn't get a cake that I broke down and made a birthday pancake and brownies later in the day. On Saturday we went to the pool, out to lunch and Dairy Queen with Grandma Cindy, Amber and Maia.
